This is a senior accountant position at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego with a healthcare finance focus.
Specifically, this position will be responsible for accounting cycle functions within managed care (HMO, PMPM, encounter-based data, claims, etc.
), reimbursement modeling and revenue recognition (CMS-1500), and other responsibilities as assigned.

The ideal candidate will be able to manage conflicting deadlines, analyze and manipulate large spreadsheet-based data files, and have a knack for understanding the operational origins of transactions that are being analyzed and/or journalized.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing accounting and financial reporting functions in accordance with generally acceptable accounting principles and RCHHC policies.
In addition, the Senior Accountant will assist with the annual budget, audit, and tax compliance.
The Senior Accountant is self-motivated; able to work independently; provide leadership when necessary; multitask and meet deadlines; and seeks opportunities for continuous process improvement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
5 years of experience
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.
)
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Proven accounting skills and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Demonstrated ability to perform variance analysis
Experience and proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration
7 years of experience
Certified Management Accountant
Certified Public Accountant
Experience with People Soft and Hyperion
Not-for-Profit Experience
