If you're a team player with bold ideas and execution, now is the right time to connect! Position Overview Serves as Senior Reconciliation Accountant at Student Financial Solutions (SFS) -a multi-divisional unit of Business & Financial Services (BFS).
Applies professional accounting concepts to resolve complex assignments that require analysis of multiple factors and data sources.
Exercises judgment within defined accounting procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions.
Responsible for complex monthly/quarterly financial reconciliation and resolution of SFS general ledger liability/receivable accounts, sub-ledger to general ledger reconciliation, and integration monitoring response.
Provides analysis, financial management, and accounting support for approximately $500M annually in student financial aid funds.
Performs accounting functions necessary to support the accurate and timely posting and reconciling for all related accounts, including monthly AR collections, AP, and AR sub-ledger to general ledger/project portfolio management.
Provides requested data for internal and external auditors, unit and department leadership.
Independently performs data analysis to identify opportunities for process efficiency and improved productivity, making recommendations to unit leadership.
Assists with special projects and performs a variety of additional functions contributing to the division's goals and objectives.
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced financial service professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures.
Resolves a wide range of issues and manages special projects as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Thorough knowledge of accounting function and assignments.
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of accounting principles theory and practice.
Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP and GASB pronouncements, as well as reporting standards related to internal controls.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and summarize complex accounting data using applications such as Excel, perform complex reconciliations, and resolve complex accounting problems.
Thorough knowledge of financial transactions and systems, as well as related policy, accounting, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Proven ability to analyze business requirements, regulations and similar information.
Ability to quickly learn and apply policies.
Knowledge of best practice accounting internal controls.
Thorough knowledge of common desktop / web applications.
Intermediate proficiency of Excel, Word and Access.
Ability to apply knowledge of automated accounting systems to research and resolve problems or recommend improvements.
Excellent interpersonal, analytical and written communication skills.
Strong presentation skills.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS This job offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
Full-time Three (3) year contract position with the possibility of extension based on business needs and the availability of funding.
Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $67,200 - $119,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $32.
