Job Description
CSCI will be supporting a Department of Defense agency to provide accounting and audit support in order to meet the intent of obtaining an unmodified audit opinion, and support financial reporting requirements and audit remediation.
Responsibilities
Provide audit support and research and reconcile accounting transactions during the annual Independent Public Auditor (IPA) audit cycle
Review financial system data for DoD ERPs
Support the audit readiness team with collecting, compiling, and reviewing all Key Supporting Documentation (KSD) and other documents.
Prepare a listing of the agency’s universe of transactions to perform data analytics
Conduct a review of internal controls metrics for each business segment to include Complementary User Entity Controls (CUEC) Guides
Support in the development and implementation of Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) as a result of the annual IPA audit Notice of Findings and Recommendations (NFRs)
Assist in the development of white papers, and other audit artifacts
Assist in updating Business Process Narratives (BPN), Business Process Maps (BPM), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Support the agency’s Risk Management and Internal Controls Program (RMIC)
Minimum Requirements
5 years of experience within the past 10 years in accounting/management consulting with DOD entities.
5 years’ experience in audit response and remediation in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS).
DoD auditing experience with FIAR audit readiness/remediation tasks
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business.
Secret Security Clearance at the start of the task.
Preferred Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
End-to-end knowledge of the Navy’s and United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) organizational structure.
