The Senior SEC Reporting Accountant performs a full spectrum of financial, regulatory, reporting and accounting assignments, including assisting in the preparation of financial reporting package and related analysis.
The role includes preparing various supporting schedules used in quarterly and year end reporting.
The role also includes preparing journal entries and supporting schedules for complex accounts primarily relating to equity transactions and derivatives as part of monthly closing.
This position reports to the Senior Manager, SEC Reporting.
Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and filing of Forms 10-Q quarterly reports and Form 10-K annual reports to the SEC, including the preparation of the financial statements, related footnotes and Management's Discussion and Analysis.
Perform quarterly closing and reporting tasks including preparing account reconciliation, roll-forward, cashflow statements and other schedules; identify items shown in the closing/reporting process and propose solutions through research.
Perform monthly closing and reporting tasks relating to stock-based compensation, derivatives, EPS calculation, and other comprehensive accounting analysis; work with the Treasury team on debt covenant compliance to ensure covenant standards are met.
Maintain best practice internal controls over the financial reporting and other processes, including disciplined, detailed documentation.
Assist in the preparation of Proxy statement and various projects such as quarterly earnings press release process and filing of the related Form 8K.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education Required: Bachelor; Accounting Language Required: English Experience 3 years of relevant experience working in a public accounting or in SEC reporting capacity within a public company Strong accounting skills, including knowledge of US GAAP and financial statement presentation Fast learner with ability to research, solve problems Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong MS office skills including Excel, PowerPoint, Word Working knowledge of SOX/ICFR and process controls Preferred: Experience: Experience with accounting for equity related transactions (share-based compensation, award grant/exercise/cancellation) Experience with preparing cashflow statements Experience using Workday financials, OfficeConnect, Wdesk #LI-MCM About Us We are more than a specialty finance company providing debt recovery solutions for consumers.
