Responsible for performing monthly calculations of allowances for patient accounts receivables (contractual and bad debt).
Review actual patient account activity by financial class to ensure allowances recorded on the balance sheet reflect a reasonable estimate of collectability.
Analyze monthly activity in receivable allowance accounts (balance sheet), contractuals and bad debt expenses (income statement) in comparison to revenue generated by financial class.
Perform research and data analytics to support revenue integrity.
Responsible for the development of timely, relevant and actionable dashboards and reports to stimulate data-driven performance improvement and revenue optimization.
Conduct analysis of current and emerging reimbursement, contractual and revenue trends and works closely with Finance executives.
Support the corporate compliance program by verifying adherence to regulatory guidelines and work closely with external auditors.
Investigate suspicious charge entries and balances.
Work with key revenue management areas to resolve and improve cash collections processes.
Collaborate with Information Technology department to maximize the functionality of revenue cycle information systems.
Use sound judgment and resourcefulness in decision-making and problem-solving, as well as able to think and work independently.
Capable of a high degree of independence in the performance of a variety of complicated tasks.
Responsible for ensuring proper mapping for patient account activity from Patient Business Services into the General Ledger.
Assist with individuals preparing/appealing cost reports and reconciles third-party due to and due from accounts.
Mentor others within the finance department in PC skills such as Access and Excel.
Perform complex analysis and comparisons.
Work closely with staff from PBS, Managed Care Contracting and HIM.
Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position.
Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.
e.
, calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.
e.
, MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail).
Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job.

Job Requirements Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Health Management-Policy Preferred Education: Not Applicable Minimum Experience: 3 - 4 years financial accounting and 3 - 4 years healthcare finance; Advanced working knowledge of Excel & Access and able to perform manipulations of large amounts of data Preferred Experience: Previous Healthcare AR allowance calculations and revenue analysis.
Proficiency level in healthcare financial management/analysis and ability to manage multiple priorities with changing needs and deadlines.
