Staff Accountant

Applies principles of GAAP accounting to transact and analyze financial information and prepare financial reports requiring the knowledge of accounting principles and using some judgement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned: *Accounts Payable* * Maintain accounting records including electronic document storage * Invoice processing, W-9 maintenance and 1099 preparation * Expense report and credit card processing * Weekly or as needed check runs and mailing * Responds to supplier inquiries * Knowledge of sales tax rules *Accounts Receivable* * Customer invoice processing * Collection activities * Supplier relationships, credit reviews and new customer credit checks * Responds to customer inquiries * Banking Activities * Daily reconciliation of banking transactions * Check all disbursement are legitimate * Entry of transactions into accounting system * Maintaining fraud control records with the bank * Bank deposit and credit card processing as needed * Reporting and Month-End Close * Prepare and maintain account reconciliation and analyses to support completeness and accuracy of financial statements * Prepare and post journal entries and reconcile ledger accounts * Perform month-end close process for income statement, balance sheet and other ancillary reports * Analyzes accounting documents for accuracy, investigating questionable data and taking corrective action when necessary *Cost Accounting* * Knowledge of inventory and standard cost costing method * Knowledge of Bills of Material and preparing updates for changes in costing or routings * Variance analysis including work order and purchase price variances * Labor and overhead application * Project accounting and reports * Margin analysis * Physical inventory support Job Type: Full-time Pay: $85,000.
