*SUMMARY: *The Finance Associate is a key member of the Business Office team with primary responsibility for Student Billing (i.
e.
, Accounts Receivable), Accounts Payable, Payroll and general office support.
*REQUIRED EDUCATION:*
* Associate Degree in Business (Bachelor Degree in Accounting highly desirable)
*ESSENTIAL SKILLS: *
* Two years prior experience in Accounting or five years of General Business Office experience
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Accounting Software
* Experience with Quickbooks
* Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines
* Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
* Strong analytical abilities
* Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
* Experience in an Educational environment desirable
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
*STUDENT BILLING: *Maintain and administer all aspects of family and student billing accounts
* Apply charges to student accounts for tuition, fees, and ancillary expenses.
* Process incoming payments, prepare remote bank deposits, and reconcile electronic payments.
* Initiate late notices, including emails and phone calls to ensure collection of past due accounts.
* Reconcile billing and payment activity to the general ledger.
* Support billing and payments associated with various programs and revenue-generating events.
*ACCOUNTS PAYABLE: *Manage all account payable activity
* Process invoices for regular check run, ensuring compliance with Accounts Payable procedures.
* Setup new vendors as needed and manage vendor relations.
* Prepare Annual Tax Form as 1099s.
* Oversee the schedule of fixed assets.
* Reconcile all monthly credit card statements and obtain approval for payment.
*PAYROLL:*
* Responsible for all aspects of the semi-monthly payroll process.
* Ensure completeness and accuracy of payroll process (e.
g.
timekeeping, etc.
)
* Process employee changes into the payroll application.
* Assist employees with required time keeping and PTO reporting requirements.
* Ensure accurate year-end reporting to employees and to the IRS.
* Administer benefit plans including enrollments and termination.
* Handle worker compensation, disability and unemployment claims.
* Respond in a timely manner to employee questions relating to benefits, payroll and personnel policies.
* Handle external requests for employment verification.
*GENERAL BUSINESS OFFICE & ACCOUNTING SUPPORT:*
* Assist with periodic tasks such as audit preparations and surveys for the School’s trade organizations.
* Work with the Development Office on monthly and annual reconciliation of all annual funds, capital campaigns, and restricted gifts received or pledged.
* Assist with the various auxiliary functions handled by the business office such as purchasing, summer camps, student busing, and facility rentals.
* Special projects as assigned
