Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update financial records, including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation.
- Process and record financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets - reports should include budget vs actual analysis.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate submission of state payroll filings.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
- Utilize accounting software to record, store, and analyze financial data.
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Duties will also include some light administrative work and special projects - for example, deep dive research to get balance sheet accounts to balance, manually submitting state-specific payroll fillings, catching up sick-day accruals, etc.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial concepts.
- Proficiency in using accounting software, such as Xero or QuickBooks - experience Quickbooks payroll is required, experience with Gusto is a plus.
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, and account reconciliation.
- Ability to accurately perform 10-key typing for data entry purposes.
- Familiarity with payroll processing and understanding of payroll regulations.
- Previous experience in public accounting is a plus.
