Overview:
The CA Regional Payroll Specialist is a key part of the Human Resources department whose primary responsibilities include the accurate and timely processing of payroll and commissions, management of leave of absence (LOA) programs, and working as the primary liaison across multiple internal companies in our California Market Areas.
The Payroll Specialist will also compile and record employee time and payroll data to create applicable management tracking reports within multiple platforms, will regularly report on, and suggest updates to, existing payroll processes and procedures, and will be the primary point of contact for employees with timecard, benefits, commissions, bonuses and/or LOA questions/issues.

Responsibilities:
Ensure timely processing of weekly payroll, commissions, bonuses, travel expenses, and the like.
Gather payroll and expenses and approvals, and entry into weekly payroll batch.
Ensure timely and accurate distribution (and system coding) of supplemental pay; PTO/sick leave/vacation/other.
Manage LOA process for employee population, ensuring all key timeline and procedural compliance is met.
Regularly coordinate with employees and leadership, for accurate and compliant employee records management, RTW protocol and ADA accommodations.
Compile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, and insurance.
Poll electronic time clocks (E-time software) and review the downloaded information for completeness and accuracy.
Contact various department supervisors for any missed times and follow up with employees to correctly inaccuracies in timesheet entries, PTO, LOA and the like.
Compile internal management reports from payroll system software.
Participate in new-employee orientation meetings at various onsite locations throughout the region, to ensure employees gain an understanding of payroll policies and procedures.
Administer weekly benefits meetings for new hires, to ensure complete understanding of all offerings.
Prepare checks outside normal payroll, including per diem, reimbursement, and final checks.
Support the administration of health and welfare plans, including enrollment and termination of benefits.
Process required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record keeping and proper deductions.
Reconcile monthly benefits billings from ADP.
Complete separation process for terming employees, including coordinate of return of equipment, exit interviews, reporting, and leadership feedback sessions.
Qualifications:
At least 2 years of CA specific, multi-entity payroll processing experience
At least 1 year of leave administration experience
ADP Workforce now payroll administration experience is a MUST!
Health and welfare benefits administration experience
2+ years’ experience processing variable pay (commissions and bonuses)
Payroll certificate and/or advanced training in payroll practices
HRCI or SHRM certification desirable
PAY TRANSPARENCY:
The starting hourly rate for this opportunity ranges from $25.
50-$28.

The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands.
