Who We Are
Continental Maritime of San Diego, a Titan company, is a certified Master Ship Repair Contractor for the U.
S.
Navy.
Our skilled professionals have performed hundreds of ship repairs for the Navy and Military Sealift Command.
CMSD does repair on all types of major surface vessels including CVN, CG, and DDG, and all types of amphibious ships including LHD, LHA, LSD, LPD, and auxiliary ships.
Our work also includes repairs and alterations to a wide range of Combatant, Hull, Mechanical and Electrical, and Habitability Systems.
Position Specifics
The Cost Estimating Analyst 1 is responsible for estimating labor and material costs based on request for proposal (RFP) data submitted by prospective customers.
Compiles estimating data by utilizing applicable company software and/or input provided by the Estimating Supervisor, as directed.
Analyzes the data and informs the Estimating Supervisor of any potential issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
US Citizenship is required
Use and/or application of principles, theories, and concepts
Knowledge of industry practices and standards
Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform professional tasks
Capacity to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Capable of reading blueprints, technical manual references, and work specifications
Able to interact with customer and promote good faith relationships
Ability to set priorities in addition to establishing and meeting deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be available for unscheduled extended work hours and non-standard workweeks as required for proposal deadlines
Physical Requirements
Normally assigned to perform work in an office environment.
Only electrical hazards and other minor potential hazards normally found in an office environment are anticipated.
May be required to travel to job sites or other offices.
May be exposed to paint fumes, welding, and other shipboard or shore-based hazards
Ability to move up to 10 pounds on a regular bases
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
