SUMMARY: Responsible for properly performing or ensuring the performance of the administrative duties necessary to coordinate the accurate, timely payment of payroll to all team members of the property, maintaining the strictest level of confidentiality within the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class.

Maintains the strictest level of confidence within the department, ensuring that the individual payroll amounts of each individual team member remain private and confidential.
Maintains time and attendance records throughout the property, providing reports to all departments, for review, on a regular basis.
Posts information pertaining to hours worked, deductions, paid time off, benefits, gratuities and direct deposits, into the computer in a timely, accurate manner.
Ensures the integrity of all financial data produced in Payroll.
Cooperates with the Internal Revenue Service and the State Tax Commission, providing detailed payroll information as requested.
Handles limited banking functions pertaining to Payroll and assists in the resolution of any discrepancies on the General Ledger.
Compiles statistical data for reporting purposes.
Maintains all files in the Payroll Department.
Preparation of quarterly and annual tax returns and W-2 forms.
Conducts the necessary research to effectively resolve payroll disputes from team members.
Calculates and verifies payroll adjustments.
Replaces lost and/or stolen checks.
Maintains fixed asset accounting system.
Prepares payroll journals entries.
Prepares other journal entries as directed by the Controller.
Facilitates the flow of information, by attending regularly scheduled meetings with all team members under his/her span of control.
Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 3 + YEARS PAYROLL EXPERIENCE (ADP, PAYCHEX PREFERRED.
PLUS, GL, JE AMD FIXED ASSETS).
Must also have a minimum of 3 years working knowledge of W-2, W-4 accounting procedures, Federal and State wage withholdings and garnishments.
3 years' experience using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must possess working knowledge of Federal wage and hour laws, Exempt and Non-Exempt laws, minimum wage and overtime compensation laws and recordkeeping.
Must possess effective communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Must be extremely numbers-oriented, and computer-literate.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret basic instructions, furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to a variety of situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
