looking for an Accountant Assistant for a 3+ month contract position.
Ensures AP invoices and mileage reimbursement forms are coded to appropriate site and department.
Process AP invoice batches for data entry in Great Plains.
Verifies entries by comparing system reports to balance.
Responsibilities: - Process accounts payable invoices and ensure accurate coding and approval - Prepare and perform weekly check runs - Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies - Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records - Assist with month-end closing activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations - Analyze financial data and provide reports as needed - Collaborate with other departments to resolve any accounts payable issues or inquiries - Utilize accounting software (such as PeopleSoft, Quicken, QuickBooks) to perform daily tasks - Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding accounts payable processes Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred - Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role - Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles and practices - Proficiency in using accounting software (such as PeopleSoft, Quicken, QuickBooks) - Familiarity with Ceridian or other payroll systems is a plus - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment - Good communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
