We are recruiting a temporary Accountant Assistant for a San Diego based healthcare client.
COVID vaccine REQUIRED.
DUTIES -
• Date stamps and distributes all incoming mail, maintain accurate records on a
daily basis.
• Ensures AP invoices and mileage reimbursement forms are coded to appropriate
site and department.
• Process AP invoice batches for data entry in Great Plains.
Verifies entries by
comparing system reports to balance.
• Ensures invoices are approved by appropriate supervisor/management.
• Work with Payroll Team to ensure mileage reimbursements are paid correctly
and on time.
• Ensures invoices are paid in a timely manner.
• Work with vendors and employees to resolve any invoice/mileage issues.
• Submit AP invoices/mileage forms and check stub in an orderly manner for
scanning.
• Assist with weekly check run.
• Assist with month-end closing.

- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets
- Perform account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records
- Assist with financial management tasks, including budgeting and forecasting
- Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of transactions
- Assist with the preparation of tax returns and compliance with tax regulations
- Support the accounting team in month-end and year-end closing processes

- Proficiency in private equity accounting principles and practices
- Strong knowledge of account reconciliation procedures
- Experience in balance sheet reconciliation and analysis
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft or other accounting software systems
- Understanding of securities law and regulations related to financial reporting
- Ability to accurately prepare and post journal entries
- Knowledge of financial management principles and practices
- Proficiency in bank reconciliation processes and procedures
- Understanding of wills, trusts, and estate law as it relates to accounting practices
- Strong mentoring skills to assist junior team members in their professional development
The Accounting Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the accounting team in various financial tasks.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in private equity accounting, account reconciliation, and financial management.
They will also possess excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Please note that this is not a remote position.
The Accounting Assistant will be expected to work on-site at our office location.
