We seek a professionally qualified Senior Accountant to join our team of dedicated employees in a highly collaborative work culture.
Position Summary The Senior Accountant plays an integral role in partnering with the CFO/Director of Finance to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, timeliness of financial reporting and effectiveness of accounting/HR operations.
The Senior Accountant supports the day-to-day retail accounting operations, provides insights and analysis to support decision-making and collaborates with Human Resources.

Salary range $75,000 - $82,000 depending on experience and eligibility for quarterly bonus.

Key Responsibilities General Ledger Management: Assist CFO/Director of Finance with financial reporting ensuring adherence to generally accepted accounting principles.
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger including fixed assets and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
Reconcile bank accounts, analyze accounts, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Oversee intercompany activities, month-end and year-end closing processes; perform a variety of journal entries and commission calculations.
Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
Conduct financial analysis and provide insights into financial performance.
Accounting/Administration Operations: Perform daily cash reconciliation ensuring customer payments are reconciled with sales records.
Serve as key ERP support for retail stores in the areas of sales order processing and customer payments.
Support the payables, receivables, payroll and HR processes.
Management Reporting: Daily reporting includes open orders and various other reports.
Tax Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and file quarterly sales tax returns, city tax returns and annual property tax returns.
Stay informed about changes in tax regulations and ensure compliance.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Promote a culture of integrity and ethical behavior within the accounting team.
Coordinate and manage various audits, ensuring timely and accurate provision of requested documentation.
Complete various government census surveys.
Support, Training and Process Improvement: Serve as back-up for payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable and certain Human Resources functions.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
Streamline financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
Additional tasks or special projects may be assigned based on organizational needs.

Key Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Minimum three years of progressive experience in professional level accounting and financial management.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced proficiency in high-end ERP accounting software and proficient Microsoft Excel.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in identifying and utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to increase efficiencies.
